On Friday, April 22nd, ORHS celebrated their first annual Earth Fest as a collaboration with the Student-Athlete Leadership Team. The day started with a pep rally outdoors which transitioned to indoor activities held by Sustainability Club members. Underclassmen Sarah Ellesworth and Caitlin Lynch organized an incredibly successful thrift shop—over 150 pieces of clothing were collected throughout the weeks leading up to Earth Day; almost all of the pieces were taken by students and teachers. Students in the MPR also designed signs on recycled cardboard to bring to the Earth Rally in Portsmouth. Additionally, a documentary was held in the auditorium called Damnation—a very current topic as it relates to the Mill Pond Dam [see Earth Rally speech]. Overall the day was a success!
